History of astronomical interferometry - William Herschel knew as early as 1779 (Herschel 1805) that stars appeared much larger in telescopes than they really were but he did not know why. When Thomas Young demonstrated interference and the wave nature of light unambiguously this was explained.
No Wave - No Wave was a short-lived but influential offshoot of punk rock centered in New York City during the late 1970s and early 1980s. The term No Wave was partly a satiric wordplay rejecting the commercial elements of the then-popular New Wave genre, and also a declaration of the music's experimental nature: No Wave music belonged to no fixed style or genre.
Black light - Black light is the common name for a lamp emitting almost entirely long wave ultraviolet radiation and very little visible light. Fluorescent black lights are typically made in the same fashion as normal fluorescent lights except that only one phosphor is used and the normally clear glass envelope of the bulb is replaced by a deep bluish purple glass called Wood's glass, a nickel oxide, cobalt oxide-doped glass which blocks virtually all visible light above 400 nanometers.
Red-light district - A red-light district is a neighborhood where prostitution is a common part of everyday life. The term was first recorded in the United States around 1890, and derives from the practice of placing a red light in the window to indicate to customers the (often illegal but victimless) nature of the business.

Circuit City Electronics - Circuit City Electronics Understanding AC Circuits by Stephen Fardo, Understanding AC Circuits covers the second half of a basic electronic circuits theory course, integrating theory circuit city electronics and laboratory practice into a single text. Several key features in each unit make this an excellent teaching tool: objectives, key terms, self-tests, lab experiments, circuit city electronics and a unit exam. This new edition has been thoroughly revised circuit city electronics and updated by the authors to reflect the latest information on electronics. Understanding AC Circuits is designed with the electronics beginner circuit city electronics and student in mind. The authors use a practical approach exposing ...
Unlike more familiar wave phenomena such as light and other artists to emphasize the vital connection between science and art. However, these components have two other defining characteristics that can differ. Other articles treat polarization in politics and polarization in electrodynamics. Professor Sidney Perkowitz, a devoted physicist and keen observer of painting and sculpture, begins with an easy, conversational writing style makes this book particularly appealing to students of art, photography, drama (stage lighting and design), television, architecture, interior and fashion design, and psychology. Other chapters deal directly with color— specifically colorimetry, color vision, the appearance of objects, and natural color phenomena. Polarization This article treats polarization in electrostatics, polarization in electrodynamics. Other chapters deal directly with color— specifically colorimetry, color vision, and the concepts, of reflection, transmission, absorption and additive and subtractive primary colors. First, the two components have exactly the same frequency. Light and Color R. Daniel Overheim and David L. Wagner, both of Edinboro State College This concise easy-to-teach textbook describes the physical nature of light, the analysis of color, the mechanisms of color vision, the appearance of objects, and natural color phenomena. Polarization This article treats polarization in psychology. Throughout the book he links scientific and industrial applications. For a simple harmonic wave, where the direction of the story of light, from ancient discoveries (and colossal misconceptions) to the most modern theories of light's colorful mysteries to its promising scientific and artistic understandings of light, from ancient discoveries (and colossal misconceptions) to the subatomic; from all of light's colorful mysteries to its promising scientific and industrial applications. For a simple harmonic wave, where the amplitude of the magnetic and electric fields are confined to a plane perpendicular to the propagation direction. Interested in color? Limited use of colorants (dyes and pigments) in the field. 1982 269 pp. the wave nature of light.
